 Immigration Court Minimize

The Immigration Court setting can be a very unsettling experience for many people who have had little or no experience dealing with a legal forum. On any given day, the scene at Court resembles a Lemming parade as people shuffle into Court and then shuffle out with papers in hand and a bewildered look on their face. "What just happened?" seems to be the question on their minds as they walk out. Immigration Court is described as an "administrative" setting, but it is designed as an adversarial proceeding with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) attorney representing the government's interests (not yours) and an Immigration Judge presiding over the matter. The lucky few who have an experienced attorney representing them will follow behind their attorney with some confidence knowing that they are not being led blindly over an immigration cliff.
